New Oil Pastel Techniques Workshop by Inner Landscape Painter Ruth Hunter

Ruth will demonstrate use of materials and techniques with oil pastels and pumice medium, matt board, watercolor paper.

Students will learn:

creating texture (tooth) on smooth surfaces

layering techniques

scratch off techniques (using clay modeling tools...or anything handy!)

discussion on intuitive painting/image making

The artist will supply pumice medium, matt board and heavy watercolor paper.

Students need to bring a starter box of Cray Pas Expressionist Brand Oil Pastels

(Ruth likes this brand because it has consistant textural properties)

Optional Supplies:

sturdy drawing board

clay modeling tools (Ruth has a small collection of tools to pass around) or anything that is handy

This class is open to anyone who wants to explore creativity with fun materials...no artistic skills required.

This class is all about playing with color and getting your hands dirty!
